Bogi Remains in Atlanta After Hawks Extend Contract

Bogi will remain with the Atlanta Hawks for the foreseeable future. The Atlanta Hawks guard Bogdan Bogdanovic signed a $68 million, four-year extension on Thursday that will keep him under contract through the 2026-27 season. Bogi has been a fan favorite ever since being traded to the Hawks. Bogdanovic missed about the first quarter of the season recovering from knee surgery. Bogi dealt with issues with his patella tendon in his right knee. Despite starting only five games, Bogi ranks fourth on the team in scoring. Trae Young, Dejounte Murray and De’Andre Hunter are the top three scorers. Earlier in the season Bogi declined his $18 million option for the 2023-2024 season. Most of the times when a player does that they’re seeking an extension. With the extension, it gives the player some comfort he’s signed for the future.

Bogdanovic is in his third season with the Hawks following three seasons with Sacramento. He has averaged 14.2 points per game in his career. He set career highs with 16.4 points and 3.3 3-pointers per game with Atlanta in the 2020-21 season. He set another high by making 43.8% of his 3-pointers in the 2020-21 and has made 40.1% this season.

What do you think about the Hawks extending Bogi for four more years? Can the Hawks make a playoff run this season? Will they avoid the play-in scenario? Leave some feedback below about anything related to the Hawks or Bogi.
